Christmas Was Coming

A little Christkindlmarket fun! This year it was COLD and crowded. I guess that's kind of like every other year that we've gone. :)

I saw these half eaten gingerbread ornaments by elsie marley early in the year and knew that I wanted to make them for friends and teachers. I love how they turned out. All those little nervous, frightened faces. Nothing says Christmas like fear, right?

I also attempted to make three quilts just like this one for Christmas. One for Kelli, one for my mom and one for me. The gifts are finished, but mine still needs binding. Maybe I can get to it before Christmas 2013. I just made up the pattern on some graph paper. It's a nice lap size quilt. 60ish x 80ish.

I just love the matryoshka nativity print. It was such a perfect find. And the red and white striped binding just finishes it off perfectly. It's quilted with a loopy pattern.

On the last day of school this year, Clark brought home this cute little reindeer ornament. It's now my favorite ornament on the tree.

We made these CTR ornaments for the Primary kids for Christmas this year. I cut the vinyl on my silhouette and then we put them on shatterproof ornaments. No glass here! It's just so cute.
You can use this .png file with your Silhouette if you'd like! Simply click and save. Just a note: it is rather small. We put it on little ornaments. Enjoy!

It's amazing, I feel as rushed writing about these as I did when I was working on them. Good thing I can cross them off my list now!

Can you please tell me where you found the shatterproof ornaments in bulk? We only need about 50-60 of them (small primary), but I’m having trouble finding them. It seems all the larger packages have ornaments with glitter on them...Thanks!

Hi Lauren! We bought the ornaments from Meijer. I'm not sure if you have them in your area, but you could always try meijer.com. Good luck!

Could you tell me the measurements of the vinyl? I am trying to decide between 1" or 1.5" Thank you.

Our ornaments were pretty tiny, so I think the vinyl was around 1/2" wide, maybe 3/4". The only thing to worry about is whether or not it will crinkle since it is going on something round. I chose the smaller size so that wouldn't be a problem. Hope that helps!

Great, thank you!

How did you get the CTR logo into your silhouette program?

Hi Hannah! I use Photoshop Elements to create a .tif file of the image I want to cut. Then I can import it into the Silhouette program, trace the design and have it cut. Hope that helps!

Hello, Mary! I love the CTR ornaments and bought the bulbs last year for nieces and nephews but never seemed to get around to making them so I'm starting early this year. Would you be willing to share your Silhouette file? Thank you!

I'd be happy to share the silhouette file if you'd like to just email me, I'll send it to you.

This is an amazing gift idea! I am in the primary presidency and was wondering if you would be willing to share your Silhouette file so we can give these sweet ornaments to our primary as a xmas gift?

I would also like to have the Silhouette file for the the CTR emblem. How do I email you?

I too would like the silhouette. How do I email you and are there different sizes we can get. I am not sure what size ornament I will be putting them on. Also, I do not have a vinyl machine. Can
I order them from you?

Looks like you can order CTR Vinyl ornament decals from Etsy.

Hi all! I have updated this post to include the .png file I used on my Silhouette. Unfortunately I only cut vinyl for my personal use. But maybe some of you can get some use out of this .png.
