Over the summer, I formed a little virtual quilting bee with some friends. My quilt was the first to go out in September. I had decided to make an I Spy quilt for the kids. I used a 9 patch pattern and plenty of fabric!!
I have lots of favorite fabrics. I ordered a matryoshka print from Japan, a friend brought back the BYU fabric from Utah, lots of them came from ebay, many trips to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn, and of course superheroes from all over!
I decided to get crafty with the longarm quilter and stitch our name into the quilt.
And the boys happily "spying" the candy corn and so much more!!
I loved the idea so much that I decided to make four more! Two for my family for Christmas gifts and two for my cousin to give to his friends for gifts.
First quilt...the front...kind of a variation on the stacked coins...
Back...
Second quilt...the front...a four patch that resulted in a fun diagonal...
Back...
Third quilt...the front...also a four patch but in a checkerboard design...
Fourth quilt...front...also a four patch in the same diagonal pattern as quilt two above...
Both of these were backed with this twin sheet set that I found on clearance...super cute...and affordable...
So much thread and so many hours at the sewing machine!! But all so worth it!!
