Happy 26th Birthday Jason!

It's amazing what a little food coloring can do to a cake! Happy Birthday to my Superman!
Yesterday was Jason's birthday. We started bright and early with morning traffic going to the city (whose idea was that?). First stop was the Field Museum for the new King Tut exhibit. There were a ton of artifacts and things that were found in King Tut's tomb, but no King Tut. I guess he is in somebody's office. I don't think I would like to work with a mummified Pharoah in the cubicle next to mine. We saw Sue, the best T-Rex skeleton in the world, yadda, yadda, yadda.

And then came the miracle...

A free ride. Who knew that there is such a thing as a free ride? In Chicago! We stepped out of the Field Museum with the intention of walking to Millennium Park until we saw the trolley with a big sign that said "Free Trolley!" I had to ask the driver 3 times to make sure that we were going to get to the Park without having to pay! Just a little plug for any of you thinking to come and visit Chicago!

Now I know a good King Tut exhibit should be the most stimulating part of the day, but my favorite thing was The Bean! Also known as the Cloudgate. You have got to see it. We also went to the Sears Tower, the Picasso and Buckingham Fountain all on a free trolley!

Lunch was at no other than a Dad Kosiek recommended restaurant/tavern, Schaller's Pump. They won't even let you in the building with a Cubs shirt on. Good thing we are a White Sox family. They make a mean hamburger for $4.75. I think that is less than McDonald's these days. Happy Birthday Jason!

100% Boy

Jason caught Cameron a snake the other day. He and Jason love playing with them...I just think it is disgusting. Boys will be boys.

Kosiek & Wilde Lumberjacking, Inc.

Yes, trees were harmed in the making of this blog! Ben pulls. Jason cuts, Mary plays, Cutlass watches. Trees die. Hopefully this is the last tree to be cut down in our yard. I am so tired of bundling branches. And for those of you who think cutting down trees is the most awful thing...we have planted 3 so far this year!
