I've had a Superman silicone mold for a while and have wanted to use it but never knew what to use it for. When I was planning Kara's party I knew I wanted to make Supergirl candy for favors! I bought some pink candy melts and started searching for a tutorial. I couldn't imagine that melting chocolate could be hard, but I wasn't sure about using the mold and what I had to do. Turns out it's SUPER easy. I never did find a tutorial, but my sister in law, Kelli, gave me some easy instructions.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjogwMhbEYfNl8hmx4vHGb-e9GpHcsoM7vby5lylEuaS6_iGgmAUNc-oFAATvrP6SKNPufVDhyphenhyphensQy9VfLT6GwH21O_IQWvxhsYoF6t0t4-NXq8yyBu7UHQnP22WoT8yQsxmV3JQHg/s1600/candy4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjogwMhbEYfNl8hmx4vHGb-e9GpHcsoM7vby5lylEuaS6_iGgmAUNc-oFAATvrP6SKNPufVDhyphenhyphensQy9VfLT6GwH21O_IQWvxhsYoF6t0t4-NXq8yyBu7UHQnP22WoT8yQsxmV3JQHg/s1600/candy4.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There are so many awesome silicone molds out there that the possibilities seem endless. And seeing as how easy this was, I think I might have candy melt favors for every party I throw!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gather your candy melts and silicone mold. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3nQpF3UhOvj_Se2XTYlLSIpUdk7jjI6LVJHCJgRWOieRrRnW8E5diDWblEuX3Q8VUodJc0KP59FgJmUVIZcJQHC2k_NAayH5hgkIIkI92qVdDblVu8Y49ogo6L9VuonfMZqnCAw/s1600/candy1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3nQpF3UhOvj_Se2XTYlLSIpUdk7jjI6LVJHCJgRWOieRrRnW8E5diDWblEuX3Q8VUodJc0KP59FgJmUVIZcJQHC2k_NAayH5hgkIIkI92qVdDblVu8Y49ogo6L9VuonfMZqnCAw/s1600/candy1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Microwave the melts according to the package directions and fill the mold. I used about 2/3 of the package for one tray of candies. I think the candies would have been better if they weren't filled to the top. It was a lot even for me! But back to how I did it. I filled each space halfway with candy. Then I tapped the mold on the counter to get the air bubbles out. Then I filled the molds the rest of the way and tapped the tray again.<br />
<br />
**There was one place on my mold (bottom curve of the S) where the candy didn't seem to get inside. After I filled the mold halfway, I would squeeze each candy to make that space bigger so that candy would fill it. It seemed to work okay.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuo4DFBFbs1vvRRibz0R7UPth8lt-sge-pzBToOin75fcLou4ndTrqabN1SwoLF947jI29-i7-APRmRec6ORfLe0KqfH7Qau7n9QtsJr5McmBIWPs7El-rbexw5FI_XbVIjwn3uQ/s1600/candy2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuo4DFBFbs1vvRRibz0R7UPth8lt-sge-pzBToOin75fcLou4ndTrqabN1SwoLF947jI29-i7-APRmRec6ORfLe0KqfH7Qau7n9QtsJr5McmBIWPs7El-rbexw5FI_XbVIjwn3uQ/s1600/candy2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
If you have left over candy in your bowl and are going to do more candies, you can just let the melted candy harden again. When you go to make your next batch it softens right up and is good as new! Or you could just eat it straight from the bowl. You know...if you're anything like me.<br />
<br />
Place the mold in the freezer for an hour or two. Remove the candy from the mold and you're done!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibIdZ0jygiXxFNnwnsluz-cX8C9gkG8YOSVXTl26YjPEeOBI87Ak8BsudSLJYtlsc3by-_WjaW4Pxfd5KHJZDNoHAIDgpKEf988dwTSrWhBxdvbuvgr_omYsOMCshHQBfaxh0eRg/s1600/candy3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibIdZ0jygiXxFNnwnsluz-cX8C9gkG8YOSVXTl26YjPEeOBI87Ak8BsudSLJYtlsc3by-_WjaW4Pxfd5KHJZDNoHAIDgpKEf988dwTSrWhBxdvbuvgr_omYsOMCshHQBfaxh0eRg/s1600/candy3.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Seriously...that's all there is to it. </div>

Kara celebrated her first birthday on Sunday! We had some family over and had a wonderful time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was such a nice day that we decided to have the party all outside. Usually we have some people inside and some outside, but after this winter, I want to soak up as many nice days as I can! Kara was getting a little overwhelmed with the day. During presents she just wanted to play with some of the toys for more than a few seconds, but we kept taking them away and replacing them with a new package to open. She was getting a little cranky. She got so many wonderful new things! She got an awesome picnic table, lots of new clothes (flamingo jammies and flamingo shorts!), a bitty baby and stroller and some books. She is having a blast playing with all of her new things and showing off her new clothes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Auntie Kelly made these amazing Supergirl cookies! The kids loved them...and ate them all before I had a chance to sample one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Kara loved her cake. My mom and dad got her a smash cake and cake to share from Weber Bakery. This little girl needed no prompting to start shoveling that cake into her mouth. Right at the start she got cake in her eye. After a quick clean up she was back at it. I think she was more irritated that she had to stop eating to get her eye wiped out than anything. Towards the end she was getting so tired and was crying as she ate. But she didn't stop eating for a second. Atta girl!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Love her reaction to seeing her dirty face!<br />

That means twice the fun right? This was Kent's first game which was hilarious. He was so happy to be playing in a game!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMqzimQCGxUzG998jdUxaUsEpRoP0N-czQqbjOzqrUomiBb6jHeFFatNvvUhgfvWFw8foqJuXu-H_S9GZuzYLRwy7guCqS3t5nRP4m8eXNkV170NOHJYxPjyK9RA0LL4xi5MVkDA/s1600/double1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMqzimQCGxUzG998jdUxaUsEpRoP0N-czQqbjOzqrUomiBb6jHeFFatNvvUhgfvWFw8foqJuXu-H_S9GZuzYLRwy7guCqS3t5nRP4m8eXNkV170NOHJYxPjyK9RA0LL4xi5MVkDA/s1600/double1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Sometimes he got a little bored and had to entertain himself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMw0m4h5uDiCBF1f2GqwJiOJ-H7U40_uGEEg2lSboULLhyphenhyphenZ5mQelrbOrgrMSyQ2Zvu3iXCU5VJ2ivK4BosaI5qRpXtx9jk6zjTmVqsEbwRtYDfYoFq2d4LefQAbX2yHzSkWNnS9A/s1600/double2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMw0m4h5uDiCBF1f2GqwJiOJ-H7U40_uGEEg2lSboULLhyphenhyphenZ5mQelrbOrgrMSyQ2Zvu3iXCU5VJ2ivK4BosaI5qRpXtx9jk6zjTmVqsEbwRtYDfYoFq2d4LefQAbX2yHzSkWNnS9A/s1600/double2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Then the fight broke out between Kent and one of his teammates. This was one of the first times Kent got the ball but his teammate wanted to get it too. She wouldn't let him throw it at all. Finally he got out from behind her and threw the ball to first base. When he looks at these pictures, he just says, "she wouldn't get out of my way."<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Jason was super excited to be out on the field helping the kids out. He was the second base coach and directed them where to run next which was important because they don't always run in the right direction.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

That's keeping his eye on the ball!<br />

<br />
Kent played shortstop, first base and pitcher. He said his favorite part was when he was at bat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhydsHNIxjwangjQC6GYjJrRVoTFFKk6g9Vlv6mKdZ66wap7YKlJcNKjuh5pOLnIpe09aGxRHxA6kq5PMgoN9kB4NsVUWA0VywBioMB5k8iJsGe1dsbev3zsp-1Ov9uy7vC89o8ng/s1600/double7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhydsHNIxjwangjQC6GYjJrRVoTFFKk6g9Vlv6mKdZ66wap7YKlJcNKjuh5pOLnIpe09aGxRHxA6kq5PMgoN9kB4NsVUWA0VywBioMB5k8iJsGe1dsbev3zsp-1Ov9uy7vC89o8ng/s1600/double7.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Clark also played on Saturday. He played shortstop twice, third base and pitcher. He's loving the game. His favorite play is when the bases are loaded and someone doesn't hit the ball too hard. He runs up, grabs the ball and waits at home to tag the runner. He's done that a few times and his team loves it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7wUHjD68po_1VEpz_8-kbWLjW9RzVqR40Mwecz3fal_dSR6EQbW7X9sZa5IIXCQMVGUl6jIAS8RCDmdE4KL10hlfAXiLVQOzVOA-1f2Crj_s5sOXatw156Ng1mU8Jqou83Mb7oQ/s1600/double8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7wUHjD68po_1VEpz_8-kbWLjW9RzVqR40Mwecz3fal_dSR6EQbW7X9sZa5IIXCQMVGUl6jIAS8RCDmdE4KL10hlfAXiLVQOzVOA-1f2Crj_s5sOXatw156Ng1mU8Jqou83Mb7oQ/s1600/double8.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
There was one time he was on third base getting ready to make a run. The bleachers are right in front of third so I was trying to cheer him on. I said, "Ok, Clark, time to go home!" He started to take his helmet off and walk off the field. He thought the game was over and we were really going home! Ha! It's like an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Bedelia">Amelia Bedelia</a> joke.<br />

We've been making quite a bit of progress on the pop up lately. You can check out part one <a href="http://somethingwilde.blogspot.com/2014/05/pop-up-camper-part-1.html">here</a>. After Jason took all of the cabinets out, I scraped off all of the loose papery bits then gave it a good cleaning with a TSP substitute. I don't think this is a necessary step, but I did it anyway. I guess it can't hurt. We were originally going to reuse the hardware, but they weren't in very good shape. We removed those and I patched the holes with some wood putty. After that I gave it a coat of Primer. I used <a href="http://www.rustoleum.com/en/product-catalog/consumer-brands/zinsser/primer-sealers/bulls-eye-1-2-3-water-base-primer">Zinsser Bullseye 123 Primer</a>. It stuck to everything which was really nice! Then I finished off everything with two coats of <a href="http://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premium-Plus-8-oz-790F-7-Dark-Cavern-Interior-Exterior-Paint-Sample-790F-7PP/202179120">Behr Dark Cavern</a>. </div>

P.S. It looks like I shouldn't have stopped at the doors...our garage is in dire need of some new paint!</div>

We really love the color. We weren't expecting it to have brown undertones but are very happy with it! We're keeping the white countertop for now. It's in pretty good shape, and I don't think it looks awful!</div>

I'm so excited to see it come together. We had to get these big countertop/bench pieces out of the way so I can spread out to paint the doors, drawers and trim pieces.<br />

While waiting for the paint to dry, I decided to tackle the cushions. We chose this awesome stripe fabric from Jo-Ann. It's an outdoor fabric so I hope it holds up okay. I used the old cushions as pattern pieces and reused the foam as well. The foam was in really great shape. I think I might wrap it in some batting though. That might help it fill out some of the corners. It seems a little loose since the cushions were already squished a bit on the corners from the old covers. I was going to use the old zippers, but we ended up finding some zipper by the yard in the upholstery section. It was about $5 to replace all of the zippers and now they match a bit better than they would have if I used the old ones.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaJfDRHXByLJnc8-JMD4DFeZkSVi2-aunftevjZQhoFyEAMVq7pRN9_aRbvFXnput1nSgmCsuEvR-gFU_kQkGr_x14lcl0aWx5jnR0NSEJ_7maTv6S7sav6pHepqR3fwIvy0nr3w/s1600/2popup4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaJfDRHXByLJnc8-JMD4DFeZkSVi2-aunftevjZQhoFyEAMVq7pRN9_aRbvFXnput1nSgmCsuEvR-gFU_kQkGr_x14lcl0aWx5jnR0NSEJ_7maTv6S7sav6pHepqR3fwIvy0nr3w/s1600/2popup4.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The bottom of the cushions is a flannel backed vinyl. The original cushions used this same type of vinyl, but I'm still not sold on the fabric. It feels a little too flimsy. I hope it wears well. Note to self - next time use the walking foot like I knew I should have! The vinyl stretched quite a bit with the regular foot.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpZAoObRY6e3gYX0idyhwh01wkjOz0q4zNkFGd0eOSeYn4jBr8MhFE8pgYdOx3b9czfhs-SE-4UnxOwiPPEoOoVJHvMo4AjvE-LHspTQiwFN46Ow2hX17s4yMih4ows032_Z2vQw/s1600/2popup5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpZAoObRY6e3gYX0idyhwh01wkjOz0q4zNkFGd0eOSeYn4jBr8MhFE8pgYdOx3b9czfhs-SE-4UnxOwiPPEoOoVJHvMo4AjvE-LHspTQiwFN46Ow2hX17s4yMih4ows032_Z2vQw/s1600/2popup5.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Stripes are tricky, that's for sure! I had to remember to line them up so that when the cushions are sitting on the bench the stripes will be in order. I also had the zippers all close toward the camper wall. The corners were a headache too. I could not figure them out for the bottom cushions. I finally found <a href="http://campervanconverts.com/2012/03/11/how-to-sew-fabulous-seat-cushions-even-if-youre-a-complete-beginner-part-2/">this post</a> from another camper that posted pictures of what I knew was the way to do the corners. Sometimes you just need to see it. At least two of our cushions look nice and square with no puckers...we're just going to have to live with the other two! I don't think I'm going to redo them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I had a really hard time settling on something to do for Kara's first birthday photo shoot. Finally I decided to go with the obvious Supergirl theme with some spring flowers! Finding a nice little place with flowers in bloom this year was pretty tough. These pictures are from <a href="http://mesonsabika.com/">Meson Sabika</a>. I'm not crazy about her hair in these pictures, but what can you do? Wind will be wind.</div>

Clark played pitcher and shortstop this game. He really loved shortstop and did a fantastic job. He tagged two people out which was pretty awesome. I think he's enjoying himself which is the best part!<br />

Clark's first t-ball game was so much fun. It was a beautiful Saturday even if it was a little windy. There are four fields and the games all start at the same times. They start each set of games with the national anthem which I think is so cool. Then the games last for 4 innings or 90 minutes. They play 9 batters per inning. Our team has been playing outs but I guess it is up to the coaches if they want to do outs yet or not.</div>

<br />
Clark played left field, third base and pitcher twice. He really liked being pitcher. He said that he was able to do a lot more than in the other places. Jason was a proud dad. He loved watching him field the ball and throw to first. It's fun to see him playing hard and having fun.<br />

Kent is loving his time at t-ball. He does pretty good paying attention and trying to follow directions. Maybe this hit wasn't home run material, but it at least got him to first!</div>

Playing catch with Clark. Clark was so excited to help out at Kent's practice. He was really good at trying to get them to learn how to play.<br />

The boys have been anxiously awaiting C2E2 since they came home from <a href="http://somethingwilde.blogspot.com/2013/05/c2e2-or-best-day-of-their-lives.html">the event last year</a>. Jason "encouraged" them to take pictures with characters by telling them that whoever took pictures with the most characters would get a special prize. Clark just barely won with 12 different characters. Kent had 10. I think Clark ended up getting $1 or something. Not sure if that bribe is going to work again next year...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The highlight of Jason's day was meeting <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1058130/">Tom Cook</a>. He's an animator who worked on the original He-Man series. You can see Jason's excitement...the kids seem unimpressed!</div>

It's pretty amazing that people create these costumes and attend the convention just for fun. The boys loved that they were able to hold some of the weapons for the picture. Hawkgirl's costume is pretty awesome.<br />

The parade - what a fun time that was! Kent had on perma-smile. It was priceless! Kent's a Riptide. I was in charge of planning and making the banner. The kids all did such a great job with their handprints. I think the banner turned out cute and we won a runner up prize! Go us!<br />

Kara was SUPER crabby for her 11 month pictures. I was so glad to have Clark home to help entertain her and get her to give me a little less of a sad face. Kara's moving like crazy now and nodding her head all the time. She loves kids. She loves bread. Her knees are always dirty. She's mostly a happy kid though. She is an awesome sleeper. She loves playing with balls just like Kent.</div>

Spring Break continued with a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. I was telling Clark about the Wright brothers a while ago so when we got to the museum he was really excited to be able to see the replica of the first flying machine. That kid has an amazing memory.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
We went to a special Earth Explorers exhibit by National Geographic. It was a super interactive exhibit where they were able to climb, touch, explore, and learn about five different climates. The boys loved it. Kara was along for the ride.<br />

I was fascinated by the crittercams they use to take point of view video. They have one attached to the fin of this shark. It seems unbelievable that they would be able to put this on to a great white shark and get video. But they do!<br />

Of course we had to visit the zoo during our Spring Break staycation. One of the first stops at the zoo was to the big cats. The snow leopard was pretty active and walked right past us at the window. Kara thought it was wonderful.</div>

Clark was so excited to see the penguins and the rookery. He's a penguin expert from his recent school projects!<br />

Spring Break was a lot of fun! We had a wonderful staycation and got a lot of great use out of our museum memberships! First stop was the Children's Museum. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Ha - I think this is hilarious!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Kara and I played by the blocks and balls while the boys worked on gears and building. It was so fun to watch Kara. She was determined to hold all three balls in her hands at the same time. She would have one in each hand and then get this determined look on her face as she stretched her little fingers as far as she could to pick up the other ball. So cute.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2mFQlJX3jpR5i7a5mVmK1m1aK11IkhMzOmkVayVOJyMnOb_kQnWl4QcsoCeoyplFYgKyTAtWEVsBTdVpvA9SXAarmD2v4L1aBow5aj973_Oa9SxxrH-GlEp-ApU5heIVoPyBWXg/s1600/childrens3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2mFQlJX3jpR5i7a5mVmK1m1aK11IkhMzOmkVayVOJyMnOb_kQnWl4QcsoCeoyplFYgKyTAtWEVsBTdVpvA9SXAarmD2v4L1aBow5aj973_Oa9SxxrH-GlEp-ApU5heIVoPyBWXg/s1600/childrens3.jpg" /></a></div>

Then the three of them all worked on towers together. Building and then Kara-zilla knocking down.<br />

<br />
The boys loved the construction zone. Clark built a bi-plane and Kent built a racecar. There may have been a slight mommy meltdown as Kent was building the car, but the wonderful people of the museum jumped in to help him out. Thank goodness!<br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">The end of March/beginning of April was crazy with school projects. Clark had a penguin project for school and also the science fair project. They both turned out really well! The class decorated their classroom like the Antarctic. It looked amazing. It was so fun to have Clark show us around and see how proud he was of his work.<br />

Clark's poisonous snake project was really fun. He really knows a lot about snakes. I was quite impressed.<br />

Life moves pretty fast sometimes. Kara turned 10 months in March and with it she started pulling herself up, signing "all done," and giving five. She loves being tossed in the air and tickled. She is such a fun part of our family. Everyone just lights up when they see her. I love watching the boys with her and how they want to talk to her all the time.</div>

So the Pop Up Camper Redo has begun. Here is the camper all popped out with the crazy awning/screen room. The screen room doesn't really work but the awning is nice. The camper is in pretty good shape. The canvas is relatively new and only has a few minor places where it needs to be repaired.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNyLhl3EmFWCPDNlupfWwKNTFaQU2NIywU-KCNJZKAwBF7zwef60k4I74DtoplVtjry8gGrip_W0lIYsuSB7B6dLeNI7k-qa7iQ7640AiM0a5HkmPvzWLsnxmAaUElTeeDeCqbTA/s1600/popup1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNyLhl3EmFWCPDNlupfWwKNTFaQU2NIywU-KCNJZKAwBF7zwef60k4I74DtoplVtjry8gGrip_W0lIYsuSB7B6dLeNI7k-qa7iQ7640AiM0a5HkmPvzWLsnxmAaUElTeeDeCqbTA/s1600/popup1.jpg" /></a></div>

<br />
When we opened the camper and started moving things a bit, we noticed some pretty bad spots on the roof. Jason just patched the really awful spot, but we are going to wait until winter before we redo the whole roof. It's not leaking or anything so we should be okay but it needs to get fixed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicx3wK7j6o90ZPVpl3rAfeWckbO5FTHyt0oZFphE7rt9W4pwb2jivmKvIRIsa7eUGw_5is3vxzDPiy2EcA9aaCe7XmWX0AgnJskZ6mwtuIgydDN2zHFY1dWb8lDuRoxniEaeskhQ/s1600/popup4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicx3wK7j6o90ZPVpl3rAfeWckbO5FTHyt0oZFphE7rt9W4pwb2jivmKvIRIsa7eUGw_5is3vxzDPiy2EcA9aaCe7XmWX0AgnJskZ6mwtuIgydDN2zHFY1dWb8lDuRoxniEaeskhQ/s1600/popup4.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
We took out all of the cabinets and made a bunch of dirt so the after photos look better. It's a good plan in my book. This is the front of the camper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhugaTa-Q0krXggzRGBORxJlTF0nbPgL0pLazbGgRr_feMKc5njQ-EW2IV5qX0ULBLOk-WsqdNgvhciIFz0OtkWILuICIx2LYbTzFvZCnUq0_VsGKni0_XBm8QLGigVKrDE3bHnyw/s1600/popup5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhugaTa-Q0krXggzRGBORxJlTF0nbPgL0pLazbGgRr_feMKc5njQ-EW2IV5qX0ULBLOk-WsqdNgvhciIFz0OtkWILuICIx2LYbTzFvZCnUq0_VsGKni0_XBm8QLGigVKrDE3bHnyw/s1600/popup5.jpg" /></a></div>

<br />
I scraped all of the walls to remove the loose woodgrain paper. I cleaned it with a TSP cleaner. Then I put on a coat of primer and two coats of paint. We decided to go with <a href="http://www.behr.com/consumer/ColorDetailView/270F-5">Wilmington Tan by Behr</a>. The color almost matches the canvas perfectly. We are painting the cabinets dark but I didn't want the walls to be dark as well even though you don't see much of them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
We replaced the flooring with click lock vinyl flooring. It looks so nice! What a difference it made! A lot of people use the sticky kind, but we like the idea of a floating floor a little better.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A view from outside the camper. Freshly painted walls, new floor...you won't recognize this place when we're done!<br />

We had a day off back in March and decided to spend it at the zoo. The weather was sort of cooperating and the kids loved being outside. We met up with the Phillips which was really fun. It was fun to hang out with Michele again. </div>

We stopped at the bison to take our souvenir photo. I was having a bit of trouble getting the focus right, so I stopped some old men with big cameras. They basically told me that I wouldn't be able to do it with my camera. I told them I'd just photoshop it and they were very enthusiastic that it would work best that way. So here is my photoshopped version! When I got home, I found an app on my phone that will take the picture exactly the way I want it. Go figure. Next time.</div>

With Clark's science fair on the brain, we had to make a stop at the swamp and check out the poisonous snakes. The boys are a little obsessed with poisonous snakes just like their dad.<br />

Back in February little Kara turned 9 months old. Back then she was just starting to wave. I was finally able to get her hair put up in piggies and ponies. And she got her first big boo-boo. You can see it on her eye. For the life of me I can't remember how it happened. I think she hit her head on the table but I can't be sure. If any of you remember...let me know! Oh the sadness of being the third child...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Kara is crawling around now and loving that she's mobile. She's such a happy little thing.<br />

I've always wanted to learn how to reupholster furniture. I finally figured out that I had to just jump into a project. I'm starting with these two chairs. They were given to us by my mom. The plaid isn't really our style. The arms are all ripped and fraying. But the chairs are in pretty good condition otherwise. I like the seat height, and I like the traditional shape. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik9qxMzI2OwNDhqJ3OuLwOMwvE_ep9KH43z8rsZ9A0CRtCdwxcT6mQS5-a743-50M116VzpeJ0nzj6lDxS-90Ey-m-4-DqQP060BnrxZqdMpwK7B_pBR2yO6sSw9skFveuMqErcA/s1600/chairs1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik9qxMzI2OwNDhqJ3OuLwOMwvE_ep9KH43z8rsZ9A0CRtCdwxcT6mQS5-a743-50M116VzpeJ0nzj6lDxS-90Ey-m-4-DqQP060BnrxZqdMpwK7B_pBR2yO6sSw9skFveuMqErcA/s1600/chairs1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's Kent's attempt to fix the arms of the chairs. He thinks tape can fix anything. Well, tape and dad.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilHdvNaEN1ZJ15BSF-j509zWfgd4vxTSuN6RJ3z7fN4Ql3pX4ISOzuIf9ARexN3T3DYIfThzH5QlXkF5LmsepZ8sRQEqoYrqG_Bs30zImsTnnTQxqWp8vFIILBN4fa69TTUhRvqw/s1600/chairs2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilHdvNaEN1ZJ15BSF-j509zWfgd4vxTSuN6RJ3z7fN4Ql3pX4ISOzuIf9ARexN3T3DYIfThzH5QlXkF5LmsepZ8sRQEqoYrqG_Bs30zImsTnnTQxqWp8vFIILBN4fa69TTUhRvqw/s1600/chairs2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I found this black and white houndstooth fabric at Hobby Lobby that was cheap enough to buy just in case my attempt at reupholstering didn't work out. But it's not cheap quality fabric. It's a nice durable upholstery. I think I'm going to love the more modern fabric on traditional chairs. I'm hoping to replace the rug someday (maybe with <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80104862/#/90103254">this one</a>, maybe not) and paint these walls. I'm done with brown walls for right now.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I started taking one chair apart last month, but haven't really made much progress over the last few weeks. I'm hoping to get motivated again so I don't forget how I took the thing apart!!<br />

Kent hasn't really been interested in drawing and coloring like Clark was when he was little. Kent is just now wanting to put any effort into his fine motor skills. This is one of my favorite drawings of his that he's done recently. Of course...it's a football player making a touchdown.<br />

He loves playdoh too. He would sit for hours and just cover all of his toys in playdoh if I let him. He takes safety very seriously. I mean, he is working with a swiss army playdoh tool.<br />

My mom bought these cutest little fortune cookie shoes for me last year for Chinese New Year. They were more for Kara, but she wasn't born yet, so I got the gifts! I decided that I wanted to get a cute little Chinese dress for Kara and have her wear her fortune cookie shoes for this year's Chinese New Year. Well, the hunt for the Chinese dress didn't go as planned, of course. I decided that I would make one, but it didn't happen for the new year. No worries.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know the dress is a little more Japanese in style, but that's okay too. I love the dress. It was super easy to make too. I used this <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/62709579/sweet-wrap-reversible-dress-pattern-and?ref=shop_home_active_13">Sweet Wrap Reversible Dress pattern</a> by Heidi and Finn. I really love their patterns. And I love that we get two dresses out of one! I think she'll be wearing it next year too. I made the 12-18 month size. She's swimming in it. Next year she'll either still be wearing it as a dress or maybe a tunic with leggings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
She's so cute sometimes. We can't get over it!</div>

We had a great Valentine's Day. I love Valentine's Day so much more now that we have kids. It's just fun to celebrate anything with them - especially a day that celebrates how much I love them. Kent, Kara and I went to a special Valentine's Day storytime at Barnes and Noble to start our day. Then we stopped by Clark's classroom for a little party. Clark is such a great big brother. He let Kent help him decorate his valentine bag. We came home and exchanged our little gifts. Each person got some candy and then a little toy. Jason got a box of Kit Kats and a rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock game. Clark got Star Wars candy and a drawing book with pencils. Kent got TMNT candy and an El Toro Loco truck. Kara got puffs and a board book. And I got Reese's PB Cups, Charlie Brown Valentine's Movie and flowers. I guess I lucked out and got the most. Jason is always trying to one up me. Grandma and Grandpa came over and brought the kids Valentine's and then we went to Gigi and Boompa's for heart shaped pizzas and some more Valentine fun.<br />

It was busy, but we had fun! I sure do love these kids and their dad.<br />
